August 2006, London and Johannesburg: Gateway Communications has appointed Paul Ziegler from AT&T Inc. to assume the role of Sales Director in its Carrier Services Division.

Zimbabwean born Paul will be responsible for the continued growth of Gateway’s Service Provider business, and will work exclusively in the African carrier market focusing on helping African mobile and fixed line carriers improve quality and network efficiency through network outsourcing, regional networking and international interconnection. All are designed to meet the specific needs of African operators.

Paul Ziegler has been with AT&T Inc. since 1993. Since 2002 he was Sales Director – EMEA Data for AT&T Wholesale. Previously he has served as Regional Manager EMEA for AT&T International Traffic Management; Business Development Manager for Middle East & Africa for Concert, a joint venture of AT&T and BT; and as International Service Manager for AT&T Carrier Services.

Paul is passionate about business in Africa, having spent the last eight years specialising in the region. His experience and knowledge, allied to his successful track record in telecoms sales, mean that Paul will help Gateway to continue to be a primary provider of services to African network operators.
