Mike
van den Bergh Appointed CEO of Gateway Carrier & Wholesale Services
We’d
like to take this opportunity to re-introduce you to someone who
has been with Gateway throughout its growth and success, but who
is taking on a new role in the company.
Mike Van Den Bergh is well known as COO of Gateway Communications,
and someone who has worked to transform the African telecoms market
for more than a decade, from regulatory reform to infrastructure
investment. Having begun to drive Gateway to number one position in the
pan-African carrier community, Mike is taking on a new role as CEO
of the newly created Gateway Carrier & Wholesale Services.
He
has tremendous experience working with African carriers across the
continent. While based in South Africa he has been able to oversee
network roll-outs and infrastructure projects across a number of
large geographies.
Sub
Saharan Africa is undergoing the most significant build out of telecom
transmission networks that it has ever seen. It’s a development
that will leave regions, previously bandwidth starved, with access
to more online services and business opportunities than ever before.
Mike
will be spearheading Gateway’s work to support carriers across
the continent and to supply solutions across terrestrial, satellite
and wireless infrastructure. Continued investment and R&D will
ensure that Gateway is positioned to provide the best possible Carrier
and Wholesale Services, while delivering on our vision of “Connecting
Africa”.
