Hello

Welcome to the first Talking Drums of 2008. This is also the first edition since we expanded our business and welcomed all GS Telecom customers on-board. We have news from around Africa including both the GSM markets and corporate sectors.

Like Gateway, last year saw African communications thrive, grow stronger, diversify, and continue to deliver unique solutions for Africa. This trend is set to continue in 2008.

For us, change has meant a doubling of our satellite capacity whilst investing in under seas cable; it has meant increasing our high quality voice traffic to record numbers and simultaneously investing in spectrum licenses and launching MPLS VPN connectivity.

But change and innovation also means looking at new markets, especially those that benefit from Africa's continued development. We're excited by the success of GTV, our satellite home entertainment company which now has 50,000 customers in 12 countries and which will continue to grow in 2008.

I truly believe that Gateway Communications is now unparalleled on the African continent and now more than ever we are delivering on our promise of 'Connecting Africa'.
