This is a substantial acquisition for $37 million and is another milestone in our continuing pan-African growth plan, justifying our claim to be the number one pan-African connectivity solutions provider.

Mike van den Bergh, Julian McIntyre, Steve Chapman and Peter Gbedemah celebrate this landmark deal.

Of course there are many critical advantages to you our customers and partners,

  • Increased scale: We own and operate the largest and most advanced pan-African network with over 25 transponders of satellite capacity, high speed access to the SAT-3 undersea cable and unparalleled network interconnectivity. This means that we can provide you with the greatest quality and efficiency.
  • Greater coverage: Our combined network provides coverage to 37 African countries. This means that we can deliver seamless, high quality services to virtually every country in sub-Saharan Africa, providing you with one service provider for the whole continent.
  • A broader service range: Our enlarged organization has the capability to offer end-to-end bespoke solutions across a broad range of network applications. We will support you from the first stages of any project through to total service management and support.
  • Increased investment: In last 2 years alone, we have invested over $200 million in African communications and we are committed to continued investment in our network, services and employees. This provides you with the comfort that you’re working with a substantial long term player.
With customers in 37 African countries, managing 25 transponders of capacity across the continent as well as multiple SAT-3 landing points, Gateway now has Africa’s largest network in both size and expertise.
